Staying Safe on PawFellowship
Your safety and your pet's is your responsibility. Here's how to use the platform wisely.
Important: Fellows are not vetted
PawFellowship does not conduct background checks, identity verification, or professional assessments of any kind on its members. The only requirement is a verified email address. You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of any fellow for your pet.
Always message first
Before arranging a Paw Date or care request, send the fellow a message. Ask about their experience with your type of pet, their home environment, and any questions that matter to you. A good fellow will be happy to answer thoroughly. If someone is evasive or rushes you, that's a red flag.
Meet before you commit
Arrange a Paw Date or meet-and-greet before the first care request. This lets your pet get comfortable with the fellow, and gives you a chance to observe how they interact. Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.
Read reviews carefully
Reviews on our platform are left by real members after completed care arrangements. Read them carefully. Look for consistent patterns, not just the star rating. A fellow with several detailed positive reviews is a stronger signal of trustworthiness than one with no history.
Leave emergency contacts
Always leave your fellow with your vet's contact details, a local emergency contact, and your own number. Use the care notes field to provide feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any behavioural quirks your pet has.
Report concerns
If a member behaves inappropriately, harasses you, or you have reason to believe someone is misrepresenting themselves, please contact us immediately. Your report helps keep the community safe for everyone.
